In short

Who we are

Lumen Catch is a game for Android and iOS developed and published by Necessary (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the game and the website lumen-catch.web.app handle, why, and what your rights are.

Necessary is the controller of the personal data described here, except where this policy says that another company, such as Google or Apple, handles the data as an independent controller. For privacy matters, email necessary.mob@gmail.com.

Data that stays on your device

To work, the game stores on your device:

High score
the highest score you have ever made.
Catalog
the species you have sighted, captured or avoided, with counts, the date and match time of the first sample, and which entries you haven't opened yet.
Settings
sound, vibration, language, no-flash mode, and whether you have answered the lights warning shown the first time you open the game.
Purchase
whether you bought Remove ads, so the game doesn't show ads.
Ad choices
your answers to the consent message and to the tracking request, stored by Google's consent tool and by your device's operating system.

This data is not sent to us. The game has no server, so we can't see your high score, catalog or settings, and we can't link any of it to you.

Your answer to the lights warning is only used to turn no-flash mode on or off. It is not a diagnosis, it never leaves your device, and you can change it at any time in Settings.

Android and iOS may include this data in your Google account or iCloud backup, depending on your device settings. That backup belongs to you and is kept by Google or Apple. We have no access to it.

To delete it: uninstall the game or clear the app's data in your device settings. Your high score, catalog and settings are deleted and can't be recovered. The Remove ads purchase is tied to your store account and comes back with Restore purchases.

Ads

Lumen Catch is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob, a Google service. Ads appear at two moments:

There are never ads during a match.

To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK, which is part of the game, collects and sends Google data such as:

Google uses this data to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure results, prevent fraud and abuse and, when you allow it, personalize ads based on your interests. In doing so, Google acts as an independent controller, under the Google Privacy Policy and the page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

We don't receive this data. AdMob only shows us aggregated reports, such as the number of ads shown and revenue, which don't identify anyone.

After you buy Remove ads, the game stops requesting ads from Google, and continuing a match no longer requires an ad.

Consent and your choices

Before loading any ad, the game checks with Google whether your region requires consent:

You can change your choices at any time:

In-app purchases

Remove ads is a one-time purchase, processed by Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS. Payment and your account details stay with Google or Apple, under the Google Privacy Policy and the Apple Privacy Policy. We never see your card number or other payment details.

To unlock the purchase, and when you tap Restore purchases, the game checks with the store from your device and receives only confirmation that the purchase exists.

The stores send us sales reports with information such as product, price, date, and country or region of purchase. We use these reports for accounting and tax obligations.

This website

This website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, by Google. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Google logs technical data for each visit, such as IP address, browser and page visited, as described in Firebase's privacy information.

The site doesn't use cookies or analytics tools and has no forms. Fonts are served by the site itself, with no third-party services.

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, and keep it as long as needed to resolve the matter and meet legal obligations.

What we don't do

Legal bases

Under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, the legal bases are:

How long we keep data

International transfers

Google and Apple may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. In those cases, they use the safeguards provided by law, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on the law in your country, you can ask for confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymization, portability and deletion, information about who we share it with, withdrawal of consent, and objection to processing. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Brazil, the ANPD; elsewhere, your local authority.

Since we don't keep data that identifies you, most of these rights are in your hands:

For any other request, email necessary.mob@gmail.com. We reply within 15 days.

Children

Lumen Catch is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal data, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Game data is kept in the app's private storage, protected by your device's operating system. Communication between the game, Google and the stores is encrypted. No system is completely secure, but since we have no server or database, we don't store game data that could leak from a system of ours.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, such as a new service that collects data, we will announce it in the game's update notes before it takes effect.
